Accounting Specialist - Accounts Receivable at The Sebastian Vail
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to support accounts receivable operations and help ensure accurate, timely billing and collections. In this role, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain financial accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and contribute to a smooth cash flow process. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices, payments, and account transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances to support collection efforts.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of billing, receipts, adjustments, and communications.
- Respond to inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account status in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing issues and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist with month-end close activities, reporting, and account analysis.
- Support process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within accounts receivable workflows.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field prefered
- Prior experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or bookkeeping preferred
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or property management software is preferred
- Professional, team-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills
